Welcome to our first session!

We use slightly different lyrics:

Jesus Christ is risen today, Alleluia!
our triumphant holy day, Alleluia!
who did once upon the cross, Alleluia!
suffer to redeem our loss. Alleluia!

Hymns of praise then let us sing, Alleluia!
unto Christ, our heavenly King, Alleluia!
who endured the cross and grave, Alleluia!

But the pains which he endured, Alleluia!
our salvation have procured, Alleluia!
now above the sky he's King, Alleluia!

We also started on solfege, or the syllables connected to the notes of a scale:
DO RE MI FA SO LA TI DO

There's a good introduction at this link, though we don't use the hand signals. What we add to that, however, is a reference back to DO:

Welcome to the 2009 Programme!

Beginning February 21, 2009, the choir returns with a new name: Young Voices. With an expansion of the programme led by Andre Ong and Andrew Filmer, further singing skills will be open to all young people of the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, Penang.

A week before (Feb. 14), all students of the CEC will be provided information sheets and registration forms.
